NC Canopy Tours
More Area Info
Get ready to see the world in a new and different way! While many canopy tours and zip lines are built to thrill, most offer steel cables that are stretched across an open valley or small hill. Hawksnest Zip Line is actually what used to be the old Hawksnest Golf and Ski Resort. In addition to skiers, snowboarders and golfers Hawksnest has long excited hiking and mountain biking enthusiasts from all over the United States because of our dramatic rises and drops in elevations as well as our dense forests.
Hawksnest is located in the town of Seven Devils, which is a resort community that offers many lodging and vacation rental cabins in additional to a beautiful resort lake and more. At the peak of the mountain lies Hawksnest. We’re only ten minutes down the mountain to the busy Highway 105 with its quick access to Banner Elk, Sugar Mountain and Boone – all just another 10-15 minutes away.
Hawksnest offers NC Canopy Tours that is a tree-based work of art not to be missed. We take our guests on a thrilling and educational adventure high in the trees of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Fast, smooth zip lines stretch high above the forest floor and artfully crafted platforms nest seamlessly in large beautiful native trees. We’ll take you on a canopy tour like no other in the region. Our forests are teeming with turkey, deer and the occasional black bear…as well as groundhogs, and a gazillion different species of plant life.
Join us on this exhilarating adventure. We can’t wait to share it with you! YOU WILL HAVE FUN AND YOU WILL LEARN MORE ABOUT YOURSELF!
Here at Hawksnest Zip Lines we offer the longest North Carolina Zip Lines and the best zip line canopy tour in the state of North Carolina. Hawksnest Zip Line in Banner Elk, western North Carolina offers 4500’ elevations and we are adding up to EIGHT more lines during the summer of 2011. Currently we have 10 zip lines that create a 1.5 miles of course with some lines zipping you from 30 to 180’ off the ground at speeds from 25-30 mph! Our cables range from 300’ to 1800’ in length and that creates a LOT of squeals from fans! Experience the biggest and best – with the most spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
